Click on a placed camera to open its settings panel. You can configure:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Camera Name | Custom label for identification (e.g., "CAM-01") |
| Camera Type | Dome, bullet, PTZ, or fisheye |
| Resolution | Megapixel setting (2MP, 4MP, 8MP, etc.) |
| Focal Length | Lens in mm — affects field of view width and range |
| Mounting Height | Installation height in meters — affects coverage area |
| Viewing Angle | Rotation of the camera's direction on the layout |
| Tilt Angle | Vertical tilt for the camera — affects effective range |
Camera Types
- Dome cameras — versatile indoor/outdoor cameras with a wide viewing angle
- Bullet cameras — long-range cameras ideal for perimeter monitoring
- PTZ cameras — pan-tilt-zoom cameras for active monitoring and tracking
- Fisheye cameras — 360° cameras for complete room coverage
Selecting and Moving Cameras
After placing cameras, you can interact with them on the canvas:
- Click a camera to select it and open its properties panel
- Drag a selected camera to reposition it
- Use the rotation handle to change the viewing direction
- Right-click for additional options (duplicate, delete)
- Select multiple cameras by holding Shift and clicking
Tip: When choosing a focal length, remember that shorter focal lengths (e.g., 2.8mm) give a wider field of view but shorter identification range. Longer focal lengths (e.g., 12mm) provide a narrower but longer-range view. Use the FOV visualization to verify coverage.
