There is no built-in IR illuminator on this model, so it depends entirely on ambient light. In dark environments, pair it with external IR floods or white-light illuminators. An ultra-wide angle (>120°) captures nearly an entire scene from one position, but pixels per meter drops sharply at the edges, so identification at the periphery is limited.
